What We Believe

Who we are in Doctrinal Truth (Theology) and Practice of Grace

While we are Reformed in doctrinal theological perspective, our Missionary Agency is generally evangelical and missional and also very inter-denominational in affiliation. We subscribe to the Westminster Confessions. The gospel truth we proclaim is enmeshed in the doctrine of grace and is primarily Christ-centered. We see Jesus as the star of God’s redemptive story in the Bible, hence he is subject we preach being the hero of Bible’s grand narrative.  We also embrace the ministry gifts as was practiced in the early church. We have witnessed overwhelming success stories about the gracious manifestation and working of the Holy Spirit in overcoming satanic works in many of our mission fields. There are visible record of divine healings and works that are beyond natural explanations (….. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8b).

We primarily engage in preaching, teaching seminars, conferences, and workshops in local churches. We bring the awareness to churches in the USA and then mobilize support for our overseas missions. We lay emphasis on integrated relief program to the needy areas. We accept missionaries around the world, regardless of race and denominational church backgrounds of the missionary as long as the person is saved in Christ, have a calling, and is committed to Christ-centered gospel truth.

The Ministry Doctrinal Motto is In Essentials hold onto Unity of believers, In Non-Essential let everyone be at Liberty, and in Everything let Active Love bear the rule of Faith. Therefore, our Statement of Faith is meant to serve as a general bylaw for unity; it is not intended to be an exclusive statement of Theology. These are as follows:

Of the Scriptures:

We accept the Bible as inspired (i.e., God-breathed, 2Tim. 3:16), inerrant (i.e., totally true in all they affirm), sufficient (i.e., telling us all that God wants us to know pertaining to salvation, rule for faith and practice eternal life), and perspicuous (clear, straightforward and self-interpreting on all issues of importance).

The One True Godhead:

God is not an undifferentiated self, but intrinsically relational. His essential unity consists in the ‘relation’ of the ‘person’ of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Thus, God is one in essence and three in persons. This intra-Trinitarian relatedness is crucially the ground of God’s relation as creator, redeemer and perfecter to what is outside of Himself.

Deity of Jesus Christ:

We believe and preach the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is uncompromisingly essentially to believe in his virgin birth, incarnation (fully God and fully man), in his sinless life, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension, session at the right hand of the Father, intercession for the believers and in his visible return in power and glory to judge the living and the dead. He is  coming back to judge the world in righteousness and consummate all things.

The Fall of Man and His Redemption:

Man is fallen from the original sinless state and this is consequential on the creation order. This is evidence in many lawlessness, evils, sicknesses, pains and sufferings in the world as we daily see. There is therefore a need for man to be saved from this fallen state and the creation order restored. God is committed to doing this and the process has begun in the coming of the historic Jesus into the world. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. Good works out of love explicate our new and true identity; this is evidence of salvation. Thus the inward evidence of salvation of the believer is by inner witness of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:16). The outward evidence is a changed life and lifestyle reflecting the character righteousness and true holiness. This is the evidence of God’s love and kindness toward all men.

The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit:

He is the third person of the Triune God, whose work in the redemption of humanity is as important as that of the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is sent to the world to convict men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. He is the counselor, helper, strengtheners, supporter, adviser, advocate and comforter of all believers. He is known to speak, convince, testify, show, lead, guide and teach believers in and unto all truths. His active presence in all believers is evidential proof of Christ and God in them.

  • The works of the Holy Spirit
This include both the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit. While they are both interrelated, each needs be functionally distinguished in the life of believers for amplification purposes. The fruit of the Spirit are different strands of character righteousness and true holiness; and they love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. They are inevitably manifested or expressed in life of all Christians as a proof christlikeness and progressive sanctifying work of grace of the Holy Spirit, pending the final end when they shall be glorified and their bodies shall be completely redeemed from the power of sin.
  • The gifts of the Holy Spirit
These are specific functional gifts with which each believers is equipped to help him/her function in the body of Christ, to carry out and complete God’s ordained task in the body in the church. These include but not limited to ability to preach, teach, show mercy, help, give, lead, administer, exhort, comfort, counsel; communicate and minister with knowledge and wisdom; ability to pray with faith and see God heal people of all sorts of physical ailments. It is the privilege and a command that all believers should “follow after love and desire these spiritual gifts”. They are to be exercised in love for the common good of the body of Christ, the church.

The Message – Gospel of Grace:

The Church has been given the mandate to attend to the healing of the whole person of man (spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, financial, and social). Thus we believe in contextualizing the gospel for the whole being of man. Our gospel is centered on the doctrine of grace, where man is justified by grace through the redemptive and finished work of Jesus Christ. Love is the motivation for all the sacrifices and services of all our missionaries. We believe every mandates to all believers are rooted in the finished work of Christ. This is the basis of our motivation; because Christ loves, we can love others.

The Practice (Love expressed in Justice, Mercy and Faithfulness with a walk of Humility):

We believe that the Christian faith should be expressed in practice of love. Hence the belief in global evangelization that is only complete by gospel contextualization via active pursuit of justice, showing mercy, compassion, and faithfulness. That is why one of the focus or the core of the vision of GIM is integrated relief programs and activities. These include humanitarian work, disaster recovery, and Relief aids, partnering with other nonprofit non-religious agencies and secular foundations.

The Blessed Hope of the Believers (Resurrection):

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. They that are saved will experience the resurrection of life and they that are lost the resurrection of damnation. The hope of the believers is in the bodily resurrection and glorification, with the restoration of all things and the New Heaven and the New Earth as their eternal inheritance.

The Unity of the Believers in Christ:

As previously stated, we believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Our doctrinal motto is In Essentials, Unity ; in Non-Essential, Liberty; and in Everything, active Love (Charity) bear the rule of Faith.
