Brief Comment from The Director

Dearly Beloved,

Director Jameson Abidoye

Director Jameson Abidoye

This Missionary Agency was developed after a long research and contemplation on what it really means to take the  one gospel of Jesus Christ to the world and contextualize it such that everyone understand the redemptive story of God in their context. The person of Jesus Christ and his atoning work is for everyone regardless of race, culture, political alliance, social and economic status. I realize sin is pervasive, all are broken, and as such, all need redemption.

By virtual of God’s providence, I have had the opportunities to live in three different continents (Africa, Europe and North America). I have had many mission trips over the years into many parts of the world, including preaching and teaching trips; I have had  seminars, conferences and leadership training programs and humanitarian trips. The heart cries of many in some of these countries is not just a need for the pure gospel of grace, but for the message to be CONTEXTUALIZED. The church in the west and their missionaries sincerely, but erroneously preach the western culture along with the gospel truth and at time as the former cloud the latter completely as Biblical truth. And for the above, many places I have visited, I met faithful missionaries who have this understanding, yet are in desperately need of support and partnership at various levels. Hence the birth of this Mission Awareness & Mobilization Agency.

There are enormous churches in the Global South, especially in Asia, Africa and South America whose leadership are in need of sound theological training for their local pastors and their congregations. Many of these churches cannot afford to send their leaders to a formal Bible School for financial reason. Hence, a need for raising the awareness, a mobilization support and partnership for them, no matter how minimal.

The experiences above laid the foundation for my vision and the medium through which God spoke to my heart about the mission of GIM, and why an integrated relief program should be a major part of the vision and mission. GIM is therefore aims to act as a conduit for the gap that exist between the very resourceful Western church and some of the Global Southern churches. We do everything in our capacity to solicit support and mediate for such need.

GIM is  established ultimately to advance Christ missional mandate for the universal Church – the work of Great Commission, and to do it with Gospel Contextualization for the local churches, avoiding the export of and imposing our own western culture. We are here to help those who God has called to the ‘frontline’ mission fields of the world.

While we embraced the Reformed Faith tradition and all the corresponding historical church confessions, we serve missionaries across all denominations. Our embrace this philosophical slogan: In essentials, Unity; in non-essential, Liberty; and in everything, Charity.

We treat all our missionaries equally, lovingly and graciously. Other than spiritual and necessary physical support as the agency’s capacity allows, we also provide the administrative service, thus freeing our missionaries to fulfill their call. We believe in “servant-leadership,” and thus do not control them. We make every effort not to interfere with our missionaries day-to-day outreach activities. We work with them in affiliation with their home church to help them succeed in their calling.

Yours in His Vineyard
